最近有奇怪的謠言說：「現代有些米不是種出來的，可能是用（做）出來的！（人）太可怕了……」、「中國（也有版本說是其他國家） 塑膠米 已流入台灣市場，不要購買來歷不明的便宜米，可惡的黑心人使用塑膠袋來製造假米來銷售！」
