Hello! I run a network development organisation in the UK called Newspeak House that focuses on how public sector and civil society institutions use and think about technology. Can anyone give me a bit of background for what's going on here? 😄

Thanks for your links! Does this slack just cover Taiwan, or are there any other geographies represented? Is this the main community space, or are there others?

Some here may have heard of ParticipateDB, an open online catalogue for digital engagement technology (tools and services that support public participation and community engagement – i.e., involving people in the decisions that affect them – or related group processes): http://www.participatedb.com
planspark
09:33:14
We’re currently running the ParticipateDB 2018 Digital Engagement Census, a global practitioner survey inviting you to share which digital engagement tools you’ve come across in your work over the past year (you can also add any lessons learned or point to related information on the web).

Here’s the launch announcement from February 26: http://blog.participatedb.com/2018/02/09/welcome-to-the-participatedb-2018-digital-engagement-census/

And here’s a quick first glimpse at the early responses: http://blog.participatedb.com/2018/02/18/participatedb-2018-digital-engagement-census-extended-through-february-26/
planspark

We have extended the census survey window through Monday, February 26 at midnight Pacific Time.

It would be outstanding if we could collect a few responses from Taiwan. Here’s what we had listed before we launched the census: http://www.participatedb.com/countries/220

Also, we do offer the census survey form in simplified Chinese. if anyone could share it with the #general channel (or other relevant channels), that would be great.
I contributed a Traditional Chinese version through email 🙂 is there still a chance of getting it posted? it’s probably going to get more response if it’s in Traditional Chinese (esp. the simplified version deviates a bit from the English version in a few places).

Thanks @planspark! This sounds really exciting! Has there been comms between your team and the team working on participedia? https://github.com/participedia/frontend
Prelaunch website at: https://participedia.xyz
They're funded by the gov of canada, and recently started working more openly with the federal "privy council office", who sets norms for open source and open gov efforts
Would love to see more collaboration if it aligns!
