This is a cool idea! One of the big issues vTaiwan runs into with Polis is that you’re stuck with whatever grouping it gives you - there’s no way to customise it for different deliberation needs. I like how flexible this painting approach is with grouping people. On the practical side - would it be possible if users could just choose how many clusters they want or how many voters go in each group? Also, if people could just upload their Polis-style data and use this tool, I think it would be super useful 🙌🏾

There's def room to improve interface. Basically, polis is 3 things:
1. projecting data in 2D with dimensional reduction algos
2. auto-labeling that projection with clustering algo (what you're asking for)
3. Comment stats on those clusters (what this app does dynamically with user-created labels)
This app does different projections in advance, using machine-learning pythons libraries (not in JS). Doing projection on-demand would take a rethink. One could re-run the script every once in awhile in CI and recommit the projection from any new data (I've done that in the repo on request from someone in government). We _could_ recalculate some cluster labels pretty easily using diff cluster algos, and save those in the repo, then allow ppl to click to "auto-paint" from "kmeans" labels (or "hdbscan" or "hierarchical clustering" or whichever types of clustering we want to bundle in for exploration :) )

Working on a new prototype for regular ppl to explore and find wisdom in polis-like opinion data! I'm hoping to share a completed version of soon...! It's like a Google Maps for exploring different projections of human values data, and the layers of this perspective landscape. I think I can fit all the features of my ugly prototype into something that has familiar map UX -- like if Google Maps and tldraw had a baby) :slightly_smiling_face:

@joshuacyyang I've been thinking about your underlying ask here, and I think maybe the be simplest approach is to have a *"magic paintbrush" tool*, that works kinda like the magic wand selection in photoshop. behind the scenes, there's some advanced density-based clustering algorithms that have pre-computed some fancy contour maps around the data, but to the user, they're just kinda clicking things that look like groups, and the whole things gets painted 🙂

since the clustering is hierachical, we could actually pre-calculate that (like we must pre-calculate the map -- it's not in-browser). but then we could kinda have UX that maybe assume a "higher" slice of the map each time the user clicks an existing painted area with the same color. You can think of the slices as like tide rising around islands. So for example, the first click with "red" assumes a really high tide, and assumes the smallest island shape of density. But clicking again on the red would assume a lower "tide", and expand the selection to the larger landmass beneath. Keep clicking and you get a bigger slice of the continuous topology under your mouse. A new color starts at the lowest level again, so you could select a big red shape of lower density with 3 clicks, and then compare it to the higher density center with a single click of blue 🙂

已完成 Astro Vue 整合與相依性升級，處理步驟如下：

升級 Astro 到最新版，並移除與新版不相容的 astro-decap-cms-oauth 及舊版 @astrojs/mdx。
重新安裝依賴，並安裝 @astrojs/mdx@latest 和 @astrojs/vue。
修改 astro.config.mjs，加入 vue() integration，並確保 mdx() 用法相容新版。
現在可以直接在 .astro 檔案中使用 Vue 元件（.vue 檔），也能繼續使用 MDX了。

在.astro檔插入Vue component的用法範例，參見：

是拿原本vTaiwan首頁的新聞元件來改的

主要只是demo一下可以用axios撈資料再用vue相關的套件來呈現而已~
