The root cause seems to be a memory problem.... I just saw some logs are Out of memory. I am going to upgrade the hackpad machine from Linode 2G to 4G (more than 300 yuan a month), then watch it for a while.

I recently looked for a way to look up words directly in the GNU/Linux CLI. Directly curl moedict's API to get json and then use jq to handle it a bit. It looks very bad and requires network. If you use jq directly from moedict-data/dict-revised.json, there is still a problem with low efficiency. Dictd seems to be the best choice, but I don't know why there are almost no Chinese dictionaries.

Open energy system models are energy system models that are open source. Similarly open energy system data employs open data methods to produce and distribute datasets primarily for use by open energy system models. Energy system models are used to explore future energy systems and are often applied to questions involving energy and climate policy. The models themselves vary widely in terms of their type, design, programming, application, scope, level of detail, sophistication, and shortcomings. The open energy modeling projects listed here fall exclusively within the bottom-up paradigm, in which a model is a relatively literal representation of the underlying system. For many models, some form of mathematical optimization is used to inform the solution process. Several drivers favor the development of open models and open data. There is an increasing interest in making public policy energy models more transparent to improve their acceptance by policymakers and the public. There is also a desire to leverage the benefits that open data and open software development can bring, including reduced duplication of effort, better sharing of ideas and information, improved quality, and wider engagement and adoption. Model development is therefore usually a team effort and constituted as either an academic project, a commercial venture, or a genuinely inclusive community initiative. This article does not cover projects which simply make their source code or spreadsheets available for public download, but which omit a recognized free and open-source software license. The absence of a license agreement creates a state of legal uncertainty whereby potential users cannot know which limitations the owner may want to enforce in the future. The projects listed here are deemed suitable for inclusion through having pending or published academic literature or by being reported in secondary sources.
Open energy system database projects employ open data methods to collect, clean, and republish energy-related datasets for open use. The resulting information is then available, given a suitable open license, for statistical analysis and for building numerical energy system models, including open energy system models. Permissive licenses like Creative Commons CC0 and CC BY are preferred, but some projects will house data made public under market transparency regulations and carrying unqualified copyright. The databases themselves may furnish information on national power plant fleets, renewable generation assets, transmission networks, time series for electricity loads, dispatch, spot prices, and cross-border trades, weather information, and similar. They may also offer other energy statistics including fossil fuel imports and exports, gas, oil, and coal prices, emissions certificate prices, and information on energy efficiency costs and benefits. Much of the data is sourced from official or semi-official agencies, including national statistics offices, transmission system operators, and electricity market operators. Data is also crowdsourced using public wikis and public upload facilities. Projects usually also maintain a strict record of the provenance and version histories of the datasets they hold. Some projects, as part of their mandate, also try to persuade primary data providers to release their data under more liberal licensing conditions.Two drivers favor the establishment of such databases. The first is a wish to reduce the duplication of effort that accompanies each new analytical project as it assembles and processes the data that it needs from primary sources. And the second is an increasing desire to make public policy energy models more transparent to improve their acceptance by policymakers and the public. By the way, I think that in fact, there are hundreds of "evergreen computer classes" and "line diagrams" in the social sciences, Limin Center, and community classrooms. Generally, people who work with computers can actually do it!! Basically, the computer class is willing to come by young people who have contact with social issues. They really teach their computers and use them with computers, but they also share the online google verification and how to use Line Bot. Only this is of course very basic work. Is there any other series solution that is more in line with the g0v mode?

I also checked out a community studio with more advanced ideas nearby. They also have some hand-made courses. They are going to join them to see if they can promote some computer lessons with rumors. (All kinds of social experiment attempts ~~)

@ thanks for sharing :) g0v big hackathons are mostly in Taiwanese Mandarin. From past experience, I’m pretty sure that there will be some English speaker on-site who can help bridging the language gap. If you could share with the community your observations and needs, that would be super helpful to build up our capacity in accommodating non-Mandarin speakers in the future :) Starting a shared note on http://hackmd.io is always a good way to start a topical discussion in g0v imo ;)

just as a data point, as someone who feels like their main value in their own community is connecting people, notes are really really helpful when they're consistently kept. I always feel a little sad for lost opportunity when I realize that ppl have been talking for the past while about something I have tons of interest or experience in, but i didn't realize and the topic moved on, as I didn't want to trouble anyone. Rough notes that kinda stay in sync help me know when to ask more questions before the conversation moves on 🙂
Maybe there's alignment in that rough notes or diagrams can be an abbreviated artifacts after the event for native-speakers as well. So long as the tool is auto-translatable in-browser, then it can have double-purpose (ie. not a hand-drawn diagram, or a tool like realtimeboard that in-browser translation fails on)
i can only have gratitude for when there's time and space for accommodation (i never want to take it for granted, and would never feel entitled to it), but it does really affect how much i feel we can share ideas across contexts 🙂

also UDtalk seems workable, but needs the full attention of speakers. it can't pick up on conversations very well if the speaker isn't stopping and waiting for the translation interface to start before they jump into their next sentence. so it might be worth creating practices around UDtalk in the same way that recorded events keep people speaking into the mic -- everyone in attendance can hear without the mic, but the experience of later listeners or livestream watchers will be degraded if people don't speak into it

hey @lizbarry I’m not sure if every g0ver will agree on this statement “g0v acting as a a facilitation buffer layer between citizens and government.” However, there’re some collaborative efforts, besides resistant ones, trying to work with the government (mostly city level).
In “Taiwan Open Gov Report” ch.4, we wrote some collaborative projects. Please note: only cases 4-2 & 4-5 are projects carried out collaboratively by g0v participants and the government. Also, none of them would say they “represent” g0v to work with gov.
