I am thinking it is still hard for us to introduce what we want to do and how people can contribute by their backaground.

1. May add a paragraph
2. May make a short clip (verbal + drawing) @aelcenganda

I am looking through the questionnaire. I think I should...

1. Interview at least one more person from another region of the world. (I might interview someone from Taiwan). @jonminchin do you know anyone in Africa?
2. Study ChatGPT API for an independent database
ael 21:16:52
@jonminchin wants to focus on GIS data. @ruth.wetters @claudiahleung when do might have time to be on a call?
ael 21:33:17

@jonminchin I am going to interview a Taiwanese hacker farmer right after our call
That’s pretty much for me this week. If you are busy we can drop this call. @jonminchin

The reason the interview is going to be after our call is because of the language issue

Photos from 陳幸延 on how he uses solar power to support the pump for irrigation. Although Yilan, Taiwan is a place with relatively abundant rainfall, farms are lack of enough water in recent years because of the climate changes and the government prioritising industrial water supports over agriculture.

Discussion with Beni today on how to search open source hardware projects
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZVm1z_NENA4W_tK3wWrEby5yHsuzgemfOZlT244qshw/edit#heading=h.789n4lcreg0n
Ael’s recap:
OpenLab will focus on local solutions regarding to cottage industry in rural areas. (Not super high tech solutions).
How to make OpenLab integrated into the existing open source hardware ecosystem?
How to collect or organise existing databases/platforms on related solutions to be formatted, searchable and easy to replicate?

2) Connect OpenLab to similar projects

in his limited time
@dabreegster would you like to point out who may contact to in Colombia?

has renamed the channel from "london-open-lab" to "openlab-mapping"
patcon 21:29:02
As per @jonminchin's request, just updated the channel name. Sorry that I'm the one who has edit access -- that's inconvenient. If you want to poof a new channel that you control, I can rename this to #openlab-mapping-old or whatever, so you can have the desired namespace :)

@jonminchin another thing is that I can't do Wednesday afternoon calls from next week. Which time would you like to reschedule our weekly call? I can do any time other than Wednesday afternoon.

How do you find our weekly call? It is a good time for me in the afternoon but I hope it doesn't interrupt your day in the middle or we still really want to host a call that is friendly for everyone? Or we can make the afternoon meeting as a texting meeting discussion that we promise to be online but not necessary video calls? Video calls should be taken more as standup meetings or co-working time?
We moved the weekly meeting to every Friday 2 pm UTC+1/3 pm UTC+2. But there will be no call next Friday on 19 May.
