Worlding Korean Anthropology In and Outside Korea

Abstract: Taiwan and South Korea take up a unique place in Asis's long Cold War history. Whether the subject is kinship, religion or politics, their shared experience of the turbulent regional Cold War has had strong implications in anthropological research. In this talk, Prof. Kwon will reflect on these implications, focusing on interactions between the anthropology of Taiwan and that of Korea as well as in view of the changing geopolitical condition in the broad region today.
